Trails & Tours

These "tours" can either be guided or not(with reservations). Perhaps in your group there are some who don't want to do the all day trip, and would like to do a shorter, more scenic trip. Or perhaps some would like to do the all day trip but would like someone that knows the area to come.   That can now be easily arranged.  Let us look after all your snowmobiling needs.

St. Joseph Island has some of the best sledding in Ontario. Quiet trails, breathtaking scenery , and trails for all skill levels. From the beginner or slower riders to the hardcore sledder. St. Joseph Island has almost 100 miles of trails that can be explored. Easy access to Ontario’s main trail systems, ensures great riding wether you are here for a few days or a week. Come and enjoy what we have to offer at Puddingstone Place.

All rides are ranked according to their difficulty. Starting with one star for the most scenic -  slower paced , with 6 stars being the most difficult and only for those who are experienced riders.

Trail Rides:

Sledding 101          : 1 hour (15 miles)   WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)

This is really an introduction to sleds, their function and the sport of snowmobiling. After a brief introduction the guest is shown the operation of a snowmobile and then the practical aspect. After a short time of getting used to the snowmobile the guest is then taken by a guided tour of riding in the wilderness of St. Joseph Island. A great way to experience snowmobiling at very little cost.

Discovery Tour      : 2 hours(45 miles)   WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)

This ride consists of touring the many miles of Island Trails. We start out from The Inn with departure at 10:00 after a full breakfast . We will travel the beautiful trails of St. Joe and will be back  in time for lunch and perhaps a swim in our heated pool.

This is a unique experience with a night time ride , we start out from the Inn at 10:00 pm and head to the south end of the island. We cross Tenby Bay where we will stop and see stars the way they are meant to be seen, in the quiet dark of the north. And if we are lucky we may able to see the wonders of the Northern Lights. We then will head to the east and do a circular route back to The Inn. A unique type of ride.

Islands Tour        : 4 hours ( 70 miles)  WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)

We start out from the inn and head for Drummond Island, first we have to cross Burnt Island , then after signing in at customs we will do a quick ride on the island. Primeau Tour          : 7 hours (130 miles)   WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)WB01395_.gif (262 bytes)
